In order to dry the woods, wood drying equipment must have three basic function: heating, humidification and ventilation.The heating function is self-evident; the humidification (spraying steam or atomized water) is used to guarantee the high humidity environment required in some drying stages and prevent the wood from cracking, deformation, etc.; the ventilation equipment must ensure that the hot and humid air evenly passes through all parts of the wood pile to make the moisture content of the dried wood even. The simple wood "oven" is usually heated directly or indirectly by hot furnace gas, which is difficult to organize reasonable air circulation, and the humidity is difficult to adjust or even unadjustable. Thus it is very difficult to obtain good drying effect with only simple equipment.

The formulation of wood drying process

1.The formulation of wood drying process refers to the determination based on the company’s specific conditions, equipment type, dried tree species, wood stacking method, spacing between strips, specification, board use and drying quality requirements

2.The air dry density of common tree species is 0.3g/cm3-0.85g/cm3, and the temperature range is 45℃-85℃. For the tree species easy to crack, collapse and hard to dry, the temperature should be appropriately reduced.

3.The indoor temperature and humidity shall be adjusted according to the moisture content, temperature, air humidity and the main technical parameters as well as the wind speed of the drying roon, combined with the performance of the layered moisture content of the board to adjust, so as to prevent the formation of drying defects.

4.For the new tree species that have not been dried, the drying process of relatively similar tree species can be used according to the properties of tree species. In the drying process, the improvement can be made according to the actual situation, or the softer drying process can be set to ensure the drying quality.
